Job description

LG2 Toronto is looking for a Mid-Level (Intermediate) Copywriter to join our team.

This is an opportunity to step into a fast-moving, creatively ambitious environment with exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients - including the chance to work on national brands across our offices. From contributing to new business pitches to shaping award-winning work, you’ll be part of ideas that travel and make an impact.

We are looking for someone who’s ready to take the next step! Curious, collaborative, and eager to push the work. You thrive in a team setting, bring strong conceptual thinking, and are excited by the opportunity to grow within a broader creative network.

If you come as a team with a Mid-Level Art Director, even better. We’d love to meet you both.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with an Art Director to generate a maximum volume of innovative, boundary-pushing concepts that directly answer the goals of the creative brief.

  • Develop and execute 360-degree campaigns of medium to large envergure, working effectively within established brand platforms and defined parameters.

  • Write sharp advertising hooks, compelling video and radio scripts, and impactful content pieces with a witty, seasoned editorial touch.

  • Execute tasks with high autonomy, managing your own workflow to consistently meet established objectives, strict deadlines, and industry best practices.

  • Lead and accompany every stage of production, taking full professional accountability for safeguarding the quality and rendering of the final product.

  • Proactively troubleshoot project challenges, researching and deploying creative solutions to any strategic or execution-related problems encountered.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, project team members, and clients to align expectations.

  • Share your knowledge and advertising culture with the wider team, helping to mentor junior talent and contributing to high-stakes new business pitches.

Ideal Profile

  • 2 to 4 Years Experience in Advertising

  • A seasoned writer and exceptional storyteller with a sharp wit, strong communication skills, and the innate ability to say volumes with just a few well-chosen words.

  • Deeply curious and passionate about culture, with a habit of consuming pop culture, staying ahead of new trends, and exploring emerging forms of storytelling.

  • Highly resilient and adaptable, with a proven ability to juggle multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously and deliver excellent work under tight deadlines.

  • Open-minded and collaborative, someone who receives creative feedback with ease and views every challenge as an opportunity to improve the final product.

  • A dedicated team player who genuinely believes in the productive clash of ideas, actively valuing co-creation, mutual inspiration, and collective success.

  • Strategically focused, quickly understanding complex communication issues and tailoring creative ideas to solve them effectively.

  • Rigorous and professional, demonstrating a deep sense of personal commitment, ownership, and accountability for your portfolio of work.

  • An influential communicator who can present ideas persuasively, guide client expectations proactively, and comfortably direct talent (such as actors) during production.
