Job description
LG2 Toronto is looking for a Mid-Level (Intermediate) Art Director to join our team.
This is an opportunity to step into a fast-moving, creatively ambitious environment with exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients - including the chance to work on national brands across our offices. From contributing to new business pitches to shaping award-winning work, you’ll be part of ideas that travel and make an impact.
Working closely with a Copywriter and reporting to Creative Leadership, your mission is to express ideas visually and solve complex communication challenges across all platforms - including video, out-of-home, digital, and content. You’ll translate strategy into compelling, craft-driven executions and play an active role across the entire creative process, from initial brief through to client presentations and production.
If you’re someone who’s ready to take the next step, who is autonomous, curious, and driven to push the work. You care deeply about craft, design, and storytelling, and thrive in a collaborative environment where ideas are built together. We wound love to hear from you!
If you come as a team with a Mid-Level Copywriter, even better. We’d love to meet you both.
Responsibilities
Contribute to LG2’s creative excellence by taking an active part in all steps of the creative process, from the initial brief to the final presentation and production follow-up.
Bring big ideas to the table that push the boundaries of creativity for our brands, exploring multiple avenues to deliver impactful and memorable concepts.
Develop compelling visual approaches, advertising layouts, and storyboards, providing strong artistic direction for photography, illustration, and motion design.
Lead and oversee every stage of production autonomously to ensure world-class visual craft and an irreproachable quality of the final output.
Present work in a convincing manner that reflects the strategic thoughtfulness, depth, and relevance of our creative endeavors.
Communicate and collaborate seamlessly across disciplines with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Share your knowledge and inspire the team daily, while mentoring and supervising the activities and growth of junior creatives.
Support new business initiatives by proactively contributing to pitches and uncovering new creative opportunities for the agency.
Ideal Profile
2-4 years experience in Advertising
Proven experience in design, art direction, and developing concepts for mid- to large-scale multi-platform advertising campaigns.
Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and digital design tools (Sketch or equivalent).
Exceptional aesthetic sense and a true craftsman’s eye for detail, from meticulous typography and layout to precise color systems and kerning.
Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex communication challenges and address them with innovative solutions.
An exuberant work ethic and continuous curiosity for popular culture, new technologies, and emerging forms of storytelling.
An open-minded, collaborative team player who welcomes feedback with ease and views every challenge as an opportunity for improvement.
Highly autonomous with a strong sense of responsibility and a proven ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to present ideas clearly and positively influence both clients and colleagues.
